Working with the Chakras

Why would you want to work with the chakras? The chakras serve as a tool for self-reflection and enable one to see where they need to work in their lives. Signposts in the form of physical pain/injuries, emotional issues, mental blocks and thoughts will show us which areas need attending to. A blockage in one chakra will affect the flow of energy in other chakras above/below it. So by working on one chakra, the effects will be felt/observed in more than just that one chakra!

Clearing the chakras removes toxic energies, both recent and long-standing. The clearer the chakras, the better the body is able to adapt better to whatever life brings up. As there are seven layers to each chakra, one can work both with the present (recent) issues in the top layers and progressively work deeper to the root issues deeply embedded in past lives by karma.

Chakras also govern the endocrine system, which affects the hormones and emotions. Clearing and harmonising the chakras regularly will begin to bring about a complete alignment with the deeper layers of the chakras, to the higher self within.

Working with the energy of the chakras is easy to do. Most people can feel their hand moving through something and some can even see colours whilst working with the chakras.

One can work with one chakra at a time, or with all seven. It is normally recommended to start with the lowest chakras and work up, so that you have a solid base/grounding. By closing your eyes and concentrating on one chakra at a time, you can learn to sense whether it is out of balance or if the organs are feeling sluggish, anxious or painful. After some time you may also begin to notice colours.

To clear a chakra energetically, move your hand in a counter-clockwise circle over a chakra. Continue for 3-5 minutes. You can also use a crystal to do this. To balance a chakra after clearing it, move your hand in a clockwise direction for half the amount of time spent on clearing the chakra. Continue as above for each of the chakras.

The counter-clockwise motion stirs up toxic energy and moves out of the chakra whilst the clockwise motion re-harmonises and stabilises the energy of the chakra.

Being grateful is good for your health. When one sends gratitude to each chakra, the body responds accordingly and helps to balance the chakra. By placing one hand on one chakra and the other hand on another chakra, the energies between the two are able to connect and merge.

You can work with the chakras through various tools, as discussed in previous posts, or check out the links below.
